The Seychelles Credit Union is looking for serious, motivated and experienced candidates to fill the above position.
Job Description
Job Summary
To be a key member of the senior management team by providing leadership and strategic vision to the SCU. Provide advice/guidance on policies, procedures and plans in order to strengthen sustainable growth to meet short and long-term business objectives. Oversee the SCU’s operations on a day-to-day basis and during the absence of the CEO.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement business strategies, plans, policies and procedures; in line with SCU’s business plan and overall strategic vision.
- Ensure all business processes are appropriate and documented.
- Introduce enhanced process improvements and efficiencies.
- Drive a cost-efficient approach across the business, leading relevant transformation where necessary.
- Develop the systems to gather and store data across the organization ensuring quality of data and controls are in place.
- Drive an agenda of innovation and digital enhancement for SCU.
- Oversee daily operations of the company and the work of Managers.
- Assist all managers of various departments to ensure the timely preparation of plans, budgets, employee reviews and professional development.
- Work closely with management team to create, implement and roll out plans for operational processes, internal infrastructures, reporting systems and company policies; all designed to foster growth, profitability and efficiencies within SCU.
- Participate as a member of management in the overall management of SCU’s activities and provide financial and marketing guidance to assist in these decision-making processes.
- Develop team capability and act as a coach and mentor. Motivate and encourage employees at all levels.
- Set challenging and realistic goals for performance, growth and profitability and drive cost efficient approaches in the organization.
- Work closely with the CEO in all matters of importance and provide accurate and timely reports outlining the operational condition of the business and assist with special projects and initiatives.

Job Requirements
Required Education and Experience
- MSc/MBA or BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field.
- 3 – 5 years’ experience as Chief Operation Officer or relevant role.
- Understanding of business functions such as Finance, IT, HR, Administration, marketing etc.
- Demonstrate competency in strategic planning and business development.
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
- Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
- Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
- Comfortable dealing with complexity and leading change.
- Have a genuine interest in the Cooperative values of the Seychelles Credit Union.
- Possess a balance of strategic and operational experience.
- He/she will be a good problem solver with the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
- Ideally have exposure to investment business and/or a banking environment.
