Job Description
Available Positions: Assistant Enforcement Officer (3 posts) – Enforcement Unit within the Waste, Enforcement and Permit Division
Job Summary
Carry out investigation, collect evidence and prepare case files for prosecution; attend to complaints lodged by members of the public and provide support in the pursuit of appeals for enforcement actions and queries on legal aspect; assists the Chief Enforcement Officer in the inspection and investigation of Environment laws violations and where necessary implement or enforce the Environmental Protection Act and its regulations and any other laws or regulations into force; undertake data collection on the state of the environment and physical natural resources; participate in specific education campaigns on pollution prevention and prepare reports on the state of the environment.

Job Requirement
Minimum Entry Requirements
- Diploma in Environmental Science or related field; or
- Advanced Certificate in Environmental Science or related field; or
- A level Certificate in English and Geography or Biology or Physics; or
- IGCSE or GCE ‘O’ level in English or in a Science subject.
Skills & Qualities
- Strong desire to protect the environment
- Firmness when enforcing legislation to protect the environment
- Strong Report writing skills
- Good communication skills – ability to listen and understand/to give advice and explain findings clearly and concisely, including in written reports
- Well disciplined & responsible
- Very good observation skills
- Ability to analyse and take action where necessary
- Capacity for multi-tasking
- Ability to be resourceful and show initiative
- Assertiveness
- Possess and demonstrate integrity
- Ability to execute directives and meet deadlines

- Possess a driving licence No. 2 with adequate years of experience
