Job Description
PURPOSE
A Ship Supply Customer Relations Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with maritime customers. This role plays a vital part in ensuring customer satisfaction, loyalty, and retention while also facilitating the efficient procurement and delivery of supplies to ships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Customer Engagement:
- Build and nurture relationships with maritime customers, understanding their specific supply needs and preferences.
- Develop strategies to engage with customers and ensure they receive excellent service.
- Supply Coordination:
- Work closely with customers to understand their supply requirements and preferences, such as food, drinks, and other ship necessities.
- Coordinate with order coordinator to ensure on-time delivery of ordered items to ships in various ports.
- Issue Resolution:
- Address and resolve customer concerns, complaints, and inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the procurement, supply chain and Operations teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
- Customer Satisfaction Surveys:
- Plan and conduct customer satisfaction surveys to gather feedback on services and products.
- Utilize survey data to make improvements and enhance customer experiences.
- Database Management:
- Maintain accurate customer databases, including contact information and order history.
- Use customer data to personalize interactions and improve service.
- Customer Retention:
- Develop strategies to retain and grow the customer base, focusing on customer lifetime value and long-term relationships.
- Identify and address potential issues or concerns to prevent customer churn.
- Cross-Selling and Up-Selling:
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling products or services to maritime customers.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to maximize these opportunities.
- Communication and Feedback:
- Establish effective communication channels with maritime customers, including phone, email, and specialized maritime communication systems.
- Gather and analyze customer feedback and provide insights to improve service quality.
- Reporting and Analytics:
- Generate regular reports on customer relations metrics, such as customer satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth.
- Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and improvements.
- Debt Management:
- Manage and responsible to collect debts and track payments

Job Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 4–6 years’ experience in:
- Customer relations, key account management, or client services
- Maritime, ship supply, logistics, or shipping-related operations
- Proven experience handling corporate or B2B customers
- Experience coordinating with operations, procurement, and supply chain teams
- Strong understanding of:
- Ship supply operations and vessel provisioning requirements
- Maritime customer expectations and time-critical service delivery
- Familiarity with port operations and multi-port coordination is an advantage
- Experience in:
- Customer retention and relationship growth strategies
- Cross-selling and up-selling of products or services
- Debt management, payment follow-up, and customer account reconciliation
- Ability to analyze customer profitability and lifetime value
- Proficiency in CRM systems, ERP platforms, or customer databases
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and reporting tools
- Ability to prepare customer satisfaction, retention, and revenue reports
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution abilities
- Professional and customer-focused approach when handling complaints and escalations
- Experience conducting customer satisfaction surveys and analyzing feedback
- Ability to translate data insights into service improvements
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organized with strong follow-up discipline
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple customer accounts
- Results-oriented with a proactive and solution-driven mindset
- Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate vessel schedules
- High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling customer data and financial matters
