Job Description

Summary                                                                                                                                             

Functions as a skilled-level technician who can perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas, in addition to specialized areas of repair and who has previously worked as a general service technician to ensure the vehicle operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose Issues: Inspecting vehicles for mechanical or electrical issues and identifying problems using diagnostic equipment

Perform Repairs: Repairing or replacing worn, old or defective car parts and testing systems after repairs Routine Maintenance & vehicle servicing: Conduct regular maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, PDI and fluid level checks etc.

Communication: Explain automotive repairs and issues to customers, providing clear and accurate information about the work performed.

Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.

Communicates with service advisors about diagnosed problems, necessary repairs and repair timelines

Safety Inspections: Perform emissions inspections and safety checks as required.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used, ensuring all paperwork is legible and complete to support invoicing and customer service.
Compile applicable service reports for submission to Suzuki

1. Performs work as outlined on the job card with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership standards.
2. Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
3. Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
4. Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and events.
5. Keeps abreast with new automotive technology and repair best practices sustained by the manufacturer’s technical bulletins.
6. Supervises work of any apprentice technicians (STI students) as assigned.
7. Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
8. Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the
   proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
9. Understands, keeps abreast and complies with applicable international and national regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal etc.
10. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
11. Other tasks as assigned.

Working hours: 

• Monday – Friday: 8.30 am – 4.30 pm
• Saturday: 8.30 am – 12.30 pm

Benefits

Salary: Negotiable based on qualifications and experiences.

Qualifications

• Diploma and/ or certificate and/ or minimum NVQ Level 4 certificate from three-year fulltime Automobile Mechanic studies
• Minimum 5 years related experience and/or training in mechanics within the automotive industry or related field.
• SSQS (Suzuki Service Quality Standard – Bronze Level) (Optional)
• Valid Driving License class 2

Experience

• Experience using diagnostic and repair tools to identify and address issues in vehicles
• Knowledge of automotive systems and components, particularly Suzuki vehicles
• Strong time management skills to support accurate estimates for repair timelines
• Communication skills for explaining repair needs and work done to customers or service advisors
• Ability to understand and follow technical manuals, safety procedures and manufacturer updates
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
• The role can involve physical labor, including lifting heavy parts and working in potentially noisy environments.
