Job Title: Tourism Coordinator
Location: Head Office – Mahé and Aldabra Island
Job Description
The Tourism Coordinator will develop and implement sustainable tourism strategies that align with SIF’s conservation goals, manage visitor experiences, and ensure compliance with regulations to promote responsible tourism practices across all SIF sites.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement a sustainable tourism strategy for each site, ensuring it aligns with SIF’s conservation objectives and policies.
- Design and manage annual tourism programs and special events, while creating educational materials to raise awareness about biodiversity and cultural heritage.
- Oversee and coordinate tourism activities across all sites while supervising tourism staff, including visitor attendants, tourism officers and tourism attendants, to ensure high standards of service and effective implementation of tourism initiatives.
- Manage booking and clearance processes for Aldabra visits, including itineraries, contracts, invoicing, deposits, and coordination with representatives, captains, and expedition leaders.
Job Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism, Business Management, Environmental Science or any related field.
- At least two years of working experience in an environmental field including conservation and tourist management.
- Marketing experiences.
