Looking for a skilled and experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join the team at STC.
Job Description
Job Purpose:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of refrigeration, cooling and HVAC systems to ensure all refrigeration equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to business operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on refrigeration systems, cold rooms, freezers, chillers, and HVAC equipment.
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs on refrigeration, electrical, and control systems.
- Install, test, and commission new refrigeration equipment.
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Conduct refrigerant charging, leak detection, recovery, and system optimisation.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and service reports.
- Respond to breakdowns and provide timely technical support.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and operational standards.
- Manage spare parts, tools, and equipment required for maintenance activities.
- Provide timely incident/breakdown reports to management.
Job Requirements
Qualification & Experience:
- Diploma/Degree in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Relevant technical certification in refrigeration systems.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in commercial or industrial refrigeration maintenance.
- Experience with compressors, condensers, evaporators, refrigeration controls, and HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of safe refrigerant handling practices.
