Working Hours: Shift Hours ( 3 am – 11 a.m or 7 a.m to 3 p.m) Monday to Friday and may be required to work Odd Hours and weekends.

Job Description

A Commercial Gas Technician / Gas Fitter is a skilled tradesperson responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and repairing high-output gas systems and appliances in non-domestic settings. They ensure that businesses like restaurants and catering operates efficiently while maintaining strict safety regulations

Duties & Responsibilities

• Carryout Installation: Measure, layout, and install commercial gas lines, meters, regulators, and venting systems.
• Assembling of Equipment Connect complex commercial appliances like large boilers, commercial deep fryers, and ovens to water, electrical, and gas supplies.
• Carry out System Tests: Check gas pressure, adjust control valves, and use specialized equipment to test for leaks.
• Carry-out Routine and Preventative Maintenance: Run routine diagnostic checks on burners, thermocouples, and safety shut-off systems to prevent breakdowns.
• Carryout Repairs and Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical or electrical faults in gas-fired units and replace defective components.
• Prompt Response to Emergency Attend to critical gas escape calls and assist in investigating gas fires or system hazards.
• Provide advise on Maintenance to Management team: Explain gas safety features and proper equipment operation to kitchen managers and business owners.

Job Requirements

Qualifications / Experiences Required

• Licensing and Certification: Must hold valid local / International gas trade recognized certifications
• Technical Literacy: Must have the Ability to read architectural blueprints, gas pipe schematics, and manufacturer manuals.
• Multi-skilled Aptitude: Must poses Fundamental understanding of electrical circuitry, plumbing, and basic thermodynamics.
• Must be Physically fit: Capable of working in cramped commercial environments, lifting heavy components, and standing for long periods.
• Work Experience: Should have at least 3 years working experience in the field.
• Communication: Should have excellent communication skills and organization skills
• Adaptation: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
• Must be well organized, meticulous and flexible.
