Job Description
Summary of Duties
- Manage the Water Resources Unit within the Water Division
- Promote the application of newest technologies (GIS/WEAP/AUTOCAD, Automation etc.) to bring efficiency and clarity to water resources operations
- Manage and administer the River Committee activities
- Uses the above computer software and equipment to prepare reports and models
- Assist with field surveys to collect data on watersheds, streams, and rivers
- Develop and maintain the projections of the country’s water demand and supply
- Compile, analyze, and prepare reports on river abstraction licences, water use, and their administration
- Prepare and monitor budgets for water resources activities and for the Water Resources Unit
- Assist the Communications Manager (PUC) with the different awareness programmers’ for water conservation, efficiency development and implementation of long-term water management and supply plans
- Engage with and educate different communities about water supply and demand issues
- Compile and analyze reports, records, and other data to determine river, groundwater, and seawater abstractions for domestic, project, or other uses
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field; Master’s Degree in Water Resources or related field is desirable
Special requirements
- A full valid Driving Licence
Skills and Abilities
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to use engineering, database, presentation, spreadsheet and word processing software
- Team oriented with strong capability to work independently
- Highly organized
- Capable of coordinating and performing multiple tasks and interacting with stakeholders
- Strong technical background in hydrology and hydraulics
