Job Description
Summary of the Main Duties and Responsibilities.
The Sous Chef assists the Executive Chef in the daily management of all kitchen operations. The role ensures that all food is prepared and presented to the hotel’s quality standards while maintaining consistency, food safety, cost control, and efficient kitchen operations. The Sous Chef leads the culinary team during assigned shifts and assumes full responsibility for the kitchen in the Executive Chef’s absence.

Minimum job entry requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
Education
- Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts or Professional Cookery.
- HACCP or Food Safety Certification.
- Valid Food Handler’s Certificate.
Experience
- Minimum 4–6 years’ experience in a professional kitchen.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in a four-star or five-star hotel or resort.
- Experience with buffet and à la carte operations.
