‘Fish & Bites is looking to recruit qualified candidates to fill the following position:

Part-Time Cook (afternoon/evening)

Location of work: Beau-Va Beach Bazaar, Beau-Vallon Promenade, Beau-Vallon

Job Description

Duties:

• Develop and prepare a cohesive menu that aligns with the ‘Fish & Bites’ concept, considering sustainably sourced ingredients, within operating budget, maintain and progress daily sales target;
• Daily food preparation, live cooking, plating and serving of menu to customers;
• Record keeping and accurate daily inventory of all goods and ingredients to ensure effective operation;
• Ensure the kitchen meets the food safety standards and complies with local health regulations;
• Daily inspection to ensure high standard level of hygiene, food safety, organisation, storage, labelling and safe keeping of all items and ingredients in store on a daily basis;
• Clean, sanitize and monitor the condition of the commercial equipment on a daily basis;
• Supervision of kitchenhand staff to ensure orderly and effective daily operations;

Work days/hrs:

Days – 6 days a week – Tuesdays to Sundays (Mondays Off)

Time: Start – 3pm – Finish – 9pm (6 hours shift with 0.5hrs meal break inclusive)

Probationary Period: 3 months

Job Requirements

Experience/ Skills Required

• 5 years or higher professional cook experience;
• Keen eye for details, presentation skills in food preparation;
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills;
• Fast-paced and ability to multitask, move effectively within a busy commercial space whilst maintaining quality customer service;
• Trustworthiness, respectful and ability to work in a team environment
