The Vice-President of Seychelles, Mr. Vincent Meriton, recently welcomed the founder of JOBO, Seychelles’ first online job board with an integrated ecommerce solution, Mr. Hervé Chang-Yunn to his office at State House.
JOBO is a new platform for posting and finding jobs in Seychelles that went live symbolically on 1st May 2017 and that is now listing well over 100 jobs and offering free sign-up for both employers and candidates and free and unlimited jobs listing for employers for the entire month of May.
Following the meeting, Vice-President Meriton said that “JOBO takes job advertising and job search to a new level in Seychelles and with the continued investment and development in our economy and creation of new jobs, it’s important to have such an online platform available as it will connect employers to more candidates in Seychelles and beyond.”
For his part, Mr. Chang-Yunn said that the meeting was a very special occasion for JOBO and marked the culmination of months of hard work and perseverance. “I am absolutely honoured and grateful to have had the opportunity to present JOBO to Vice-President Meriton and his Principal Secretary (Vice-President’s Office), Mr. Alain Volcère. I highlighted the key features and benefits that JOBO will offer both employers and candidates here in Seychelles.”
He also added that “the Vice-President was very intrigued of how the concept will work and congratulated me for having taken this initiative and wished me the best of luck with my new start-up and also offered some useful advice of what else we can do to contribute to its success.”
According to Mr. Chang-Yunn, the initial response following the release of the platform from employers and candidates alike has been very good and encouraging. “For example, one of our biggest supporters to date has been the Ministry of Education with a listing of 34 jobs. With such a high listing we hope that through our own marketing, we will be able to help the ministry attract much more candidates for these positions and reduce their recruitment costs in the long-term; which is one of our goals. We are also adding new employers and new jobs from both the public and private sector, especially hotels on a daily basis concluded Mr. Chang-Yunn.”
