Job Description
Job Summary:
The Agency for Social Protection is seeking an Accountant to assist in ensuring that financial management mechanisms are initiated and implemented to reconcile and accommodate the different financial management requirement. Assist with facilitating the transfer of assistance in an appropriate way and time, and in collaboration with the Operations Division Oversee the payment of statutory benefits, Social Welfare Assistance and scheme.
Responsibilities:
- See that all income collected and receivable are reflected in the Agency’s financial statement.
- Advise the Financial Controller of any over expenditure on any scheme budget as soon as they come into light.
- Assist in ensure that all collections and disbursement, irrespective where they have been made, are properly accounted for (with required revenue and journal vouchers) in the computerized Accounting System and general ledger systems.
- Assist in the production of monthly accounts for ASP Board information and for comparison with the relevant proportion of the year’s Budget.
- Any other duties as assigned by Head of the Accounts section.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualification & Experience:
- Degree in Accounting or ACCA equivalent qualification.
- Advanced Diploma in Accounting or ACCA equivalent qualification plus two years satisfactory work experience as an Assistant Accountant.
- Diploma in Public Financial Management/Business Studies plus three years as an Assistant Accountant.
