Job Description

Job Purpose

To provide comprehensive daily accounting support and act as a reliable backup for on-ground finance operations. The Accounts Assistant ensures accurate petty cash handling, daily administration, hardcopy scanning, hardcopy, softcopy filing, labelling and organisation. The accounts assistant will collate VAT and statutory returns, payroll assistance, POS and banking reconciliations, GL clearing account management, and audit preparation. This role supports timely financial processing, data integrity, and compliance, enabling smooth day-to-day operations and contributing to successful audits.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Manage petty cash register, process slips
  • Work efficiently and timeously the financial scanning, filing and labelling of files in digital format for international team. Responsible to ensure accuracy and timely reimbursement and reconciliation.
  • Prepare and deposit bank batches accurately; monitor bank deposits and reconciling entries.
  • Assist with VAT and other statutory returns, ensuring compliance and timely submission.
  • Support payroll activities by providing data and coordination with the payroll administrator.
  • Conduct daily checks on Popup and warehouse staff POS and banking reconciliations; identify and resolve discrepancies; clear GL clearing accounts.
  • Compile and organize audit papers and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Provide general administrative and accounting support to maintain smooth financial operations and data integrity.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Education:
    • Diploma in Business Studies or Diploma in Public Financial Management plus AAT Level 4 or completion of F1 to F3 plus Foundation in Professional modules with at least three years working experience in similar role.
  • Skills:
    • The ability to maintain clear and accurate financial records.
    • Numerical ability.
    • Computer literate with ability to use various accounting applications and software.
    • Good administrative skills and organised thing, demonstrating an organized and methodical approach to working.
    • The ability to work on deadline and under pressure in a business environment, skilled in prioritisation to balance a number of conflicting demands.
  • EQ:
    • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, A genuine interest in business and finance
    • A polite cheerful attitude, An honest and discreet attitude when dealing with company accounts and information. Pride in deliverables of your work.
