Job Summary

The Lecturer Assistant assists the Crop/Livestock Officer in the implementation of the crop and livestock production plan which is directly linked to the crop and livestock practical training activities. On a daily basis, the Field Assistant assists in the daily operations and cleanliness of the animal feed and agro- chemical stores.

Responsibilities

1. Assist the Crop/Livestock Officer in the implementation of the crop and livestock production plan.
2. Perform husbandry practices in the crop and livestock units. 
3. Assists lecturers with practical training activities as and when required.
4. Assist the Crop/Livestock Officer with the monitoring of crop and livestock field activities.
5. Assist the Crop/Livestock Officer in the utilization of resources, materials, relevant agricultural supplies and inputs.
6. Maintain basic farm tools and equipment in the crop and livestock units.
7. Perform relevant duties in the animal feed and agro-chemical stores.
8. Issue and monitor stock levels of animal feeds, fertilizers, pesticides and other agricultural inputs.
9. Maintain relevant farm records in the crop and livestock units. 
10. Attend weekend duties and public holiday duties. 
11. Perform any other related duties directed by the Crop /Livestock Officer. 

Job Requirements

Qualification/ Experience/Requirements:

• Certificate in Horticulture
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a gardener/Horticulture field worker
