Job Description
Job Summary
The Lecturer Assistant assists the Crop/Livestock Officer in the implementation of the crop and livestock production plan which is directly linked to the crop and livestock practical training activities. On a daily basis, the Field Assistant assists in the daily operations and cleanliness of the animal feed and agro- chemical stores.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Crop/Livestock Officer in the implementation of the crop and livestock production plan.
- Perform husbandry practices in the crop and livestock units.Â
- Assists lecturers with practical training activities as and when required.
- Assist the Crop/Livestock Officer with the monitoring of crop and livestock field activities.
- Assist the Crop/Livestock Officer in the utilization of resources, materials, relevant agricultural supplies and inputs.
- Maintain basic farm tools and equipment in the crop and livestock units.
- Perform relevant duties in the animal feed and agro-chemical stores.
- Issue and monitor stock levels of animal feeds, fertilizers, pesticides and other agricultural inputs.
- Maintain relevant farm records in the crop and livestock units.Â
- Attend weekend duties and public holiday duties.Â
- Perform any other related duties directed by the Crop /Livestock Officer.Â
Job Requirements
Qualification/ Experience/Requirements:
- Certificate in Horticulture
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience as a gardener/Horticulture field worker
