Post Title: Application and System Support Officer

Job Description
Summary of Duties
- Provide technical support to the team responsible for a subset of business systems applications
- Provide assistance in one or all areas of applications programming that includes testing, design, and analysis
- Talk to staff/clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues
- Troubleshoot system problems, diagnose and solve software faults
- Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
- Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
- Support the roll-out of new applications
- Set up new users’ accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
- Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs
- Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
- Prioritise and manage many open cases at one time
- Rapidly establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, e.g., ISV;
- Provide technical support for level one escalation issues via helpdesk
- Proactively and reactively fix any errors found as quickly as possible
- Provide training to subordinates as well as end users
- Keep update documentation of support manuals and procedures
- Create user guides and tutorials for the users
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree is not necessary, though graduates (particularly those with relevant qualifications) may be preferred. The Microsoft Certified Software Engineer (MCSE), CompTIA A+/Network+/Server+ qualifications would be beneficial
- 2 years of experience in a similar position
Technical skills should include but not limit to:
- TCP/IP, routing, VLAN, VPN, LDAP, MS Exchange Server, MS Windows Server, MSSQL Server, Cisco routers/switches, Cisco IOS, Linux, ADS, VMWARE, BES, DNS, LAMP, IIS, AJAX, MVC, load-balancing, and firewall
Desirable
- Possession of a valid Seychelles driver’s license
- Ability and willingness to travel on work assignments
- Willingness to work additional hours during the week, public holidays and/or weekend, if require
