THE CONSTITUTIONAL APPOINTMENTS AUTHORITY
APPOINTMENT OF MEMBER OF THE ADVISORY COUNCIL OF THE ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMISSION
Applications are invited from persons who are qualified under Section10 of the Anti-Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2021 (Act 19 of 2021) for appointment to the Advisory Council of the Anti-Corruption Commission.
The functions of the Advisory Council are to:
(a) oversee the administrative policy of the Commission;
(b) review and recognise provisions of laws for the prevention of corruption and make recommendations to the President for their effective implementation.
A person is qualified for appointment as a Member of the Advisory Council on the basis of integrity and qualification or experience in the field of:
(a) anti-corruption,
(b) law or law enforcement,
(c) accounting, finance or administration, or
(d) investigation, including forensic investigation.
A person appointed as a Member of the Advisory Council must observe a high standard of confidentiality and his/her current place of employment must not, in any way, be in conflict with the work of the Advisory Council of the Anti-Corruption Commission.
The position is for a term of three years and the person shall be eligible for re-appointment.
The remuneration or allowances of the members of the Advisory Council shall be such as may be prescribed.
