Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install structures and fixtures, such as windows and molding
- Measure, cut and shape wood, plastic, and other materials
- Construct and install building frameworks, including walls, floors and doorframes
- Inspect and replace damaged frameworks or other structures and fixtures (i.e. re-roofing, cabinets, doors, flooring, painting, reparation of furniture and fittings etc.) at Water Treatment Plants, pump stations, reservoirs and/or specified locations as per instruction from superior.
- Instruct, direct and assist labourers and other construction helpers
- Uses power tools and other tools to cut and shape wood, metal, and other materials
- Maintain and safeguard any tools and equipment used to perform duties
- Make regular physical inspections of the building, checking the condition of building and report
- Utilizes skills and experience in other related trades such as plumbing, roofing, masonry, painting, tiling, plastering, etc.
- Report any problem quickly to your supervisor and ensure that all follow up steps are taken and recorded.
- Respond to emergency situations promptly.
- Adhere strictly to Health and Safety Regulations established within PUC at all times.
- Provide an excellent level of Customer Service
- To assist other departments/ sections within PUC as and when instructed by Supervisor
Job Requirements
Qualification and Experience
- Certificate in carpentry and joinery.
- Minimum 3 years working experience in carpentry works.
Personal Attributes and Skills
- Must be responsible & reliable
- Must be self-motivated.
- Ability to read and write Basic English and Creole
- Understand work plans
