Job Description

Direction Received:

Work is carried out independently with direction from the Manager – Groups & Incentive regarding matters of the Groups Incentives and Cruise Ship activities with the aim to ensure that the work of the Groups Department as detailed below are fulfilled:

Working Contacts: 

  1. Within the Company

The Post Holder meets regularly with the Manager – Groups & Incentive

for briefing approval and direction.  Liaises and communicates with staff members of the Department for planning and execution of activities.

  1. Outside the Company

Regular contacts with customers, suppliers, sales offices, authorities such as tourism offices, port authorities, shipping agents, airport authorities and the travel trade in general.

Job Summary

  • Responsible for promoting Seychelles as a Group, Incentive and Cruise Ship destination placing special emphasis on the utilization of products and services offered by Creole Travel Services.
  • Soliciting business on behalf of Creole Travel Services and achieving budgeted revenue.
  • Developing new markets and exposing Seychelles and Creole Travel Services to new clients.

Duties:

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Work in close collaboration with the Manager – Groups & Incentive to identify and make recommendations with regards to potential sources for business development and co-operation.  (New Markets, New Tour Operators, Incentive Houses, New Cruise Ship Companies).
  2. Work in close collaboration with the Manager – Groups & Incentive in developing marketing plans to predict market developments to better respond to customer needs.
  3. Work in close collaboration with the Manager – Groups & Incentive for the modification of the products offered by Creole Travel Services as well as develop new products to meet the requirements of specific markets and/or principals.
  4. Work in close collaboration with the Manager – Groups & Incentive in ensuring a fair and consistent market share with the aim of improving the business and profitability of the Company:
    1. Reviewing performances versus budget.
    2. Identifying opportunities by keeping up to date of developments in the trade.
    3. Retaining current customers and attracting new ones.
    4. Building working relations with local suppliers and overseas travel trade.
    5. Conducting sales call.
    6. Assessing competitors’ activities.
  5. Work in close collaboration with the Manager – Groups & Incentive in the promotion of Seychelles with special emphasis on the advantages of products and services offered by Creole Travel Services :
    1. Creating awareness by communicating product features and benefits.
    2. Building the Company’s reputation by keeping good and effective public relations.
    3. Pursuing targets by consistent flow of information.
  6. Work in close collaboration with the Manager – Groups & Incentive in the Determination and negotiation of competitive rates with suppliers such as hotels to match objectives of the Company’s marketing strategy and of customers.
  7. To deal with administrative requirements:
    1. Ensure conclusion of co-operation agreement or contracts with suppliers and customers.
    2. Ensure preparation reports on all groups, Incentive and cruise ships activities.
    3. Ensure the production of data for the development of sales tools, such as Groups and Incentive Sales Manual.
    4. Ensure the processing information i.e. computerized and other systems.
    5. Ensure the maintenance of records of activities and communications with suppliers and customers.
  8. Any other related duties that may be assigned

Job Requirements

EDUCATION (KNOWLEDGE):

  • Diploma in Tourism, O level in English and French. Knowledge of a third knowledge is desirable.

TRAINING (SKILLS):

  • Good knowledge of the Seychelles Products
  • Computing Skills( PowerPoint/ Excel/ word )
  • Public Relations skills
  • Good communications & interpersonal skills
  • Managing people/supervisory skills
  • Research skills
  • Good knowledge of the destination in all its aspects
  • Knowledge of the different markets

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum three years related working experience at managerial or mid managerial level

Working Hours

42 hours per week with 2 days off per week.

It is expected that you will have to work beyond normal hours at times to meet operational exigencies.

Can be requested whenever required to assist outside normal working hours and normal working days
