Job Description
Authorisation Officer
Virtual Asset Services Supervision Section
Job Purpose: The Authorisation Officer will support the assessment and processing of applications relating to virtual asset service providers and other relevant applicants. The role involves reviewing applications and supporting documentation, conducting due diligence and risk assessments, and ensuring that applicants meet the applicable legal and regulatory requirements for market entry.
Summary of Duties:
- Reviewing and assessing licence and registration applications and supporting documentation;
- Conducting due diligence, fit and proper assessments and risk assessments on applicants and relevant persons;
- Assessing applicants against applicable legal, regulatory and compliance requirements;
- Reviewing business models, governance arrangements, internal controls, compliance frameworks and other relevant information;
- Identifying potential regulatory, operational, financial, technological and other risks arising from applications;
- Liaising with applicants to obtain additional information and clarify regulatory requirements;
- Preparing assessment reports and recommendations in relation to applications;
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records relating to applications and assessments;
- Conducting research on developments and emerging risks within the virtual asset sector; and
- Supporting the Section in other authorisation and regulatory activities as required.

Job Requirements
Minimum Entry Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Law, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Business Administration or another relevant field; or
- A finance, compliance, accounting, information technology or cyber security professional qualification equivalent to an undergraduate university degree; or
- CISI or ICA Compliance qualification.
