Air Seychelles is in search of one Baggage Handling Agent to implement the day-to-day standard baggage handling operations assigned to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
Job Description
A summary of your responsibilities will include but not necessarily limited to the following:
- Perform secondary tracing activities to ensure quick and accurate repatriation of mishandled baggage prior to limits set by the Montreal Convention and other applicable laws, policies or regulations.
- Accountable for identifying and reporting safety and security-related occurrences and hazards per company policies, local regulations, and customer airline procedures.
- Ensure full compliance with regards to maintaining and closing of all files in a timely manner, delivery of luggage, and updating the guests and files.
- Create delay, damage, pilferage, and On-hand luggage files for all airlines. Ensure daily contact with guests about the delay of mishandling baggage. Update and maintain records of all baggage deliveries.
- Ensure full compliance with regards to maintaining and closing of all files in a timely manner, delivery of luggage and updating the guests and files.
- Keep records of Lost and Found Property for items found for all airlines.
- Support in maintaining the Baggage Cage, tracing and inventory of bags kept in the cage in accordance with safety, customs and other applicable regulations and ensuring proper handling and logging.
- Maintain excellent and strong relationships with customer airlines and Outstation handling agents in regard to mishandled baggage.

Our Preferred Profile
- Post-secondary graduate with IGCSE passes in English, French and Mathematics *
- Experience delivering service in demanding consumer environment.
- Minimum 3 years operational experience in baggage handling or front-line customer service with applicable linguistic and regulatory skill-set.
- Must possess active user knowledge in World Tracer Web Guide and customer Airline’s system.
- Must possess knowledge in Baggage Handling skills and customer service.
- Must be fluent in business and airline English to be able to read, understand and apply regulatory documentation and legislation applicable for mishandled cases.
- Good computer Skills
- Good communication skills
- Organized with ability to work competently under pressure.
- Proactive, determined and result-oriented.
- Good report-writing skills
*Or the equivalent combination of education and experience
