Section: Bio-medical Engineering

Reports to: Senior Biomedical Technician

Job Purpose

To carry out servicing, maintenance, repair and installation of medical equipment.

Key Outputs 

1. Maintenance, repair and installation of medical equipment done effectively
2. Simple faults properly diagnosed and corrected in a timely manner
3. New medical equipment and apparatus installed, commissioned and tested timely
4. Preventive maintenance on medical equipment and system done timely
5. Periodic calibration and safety testing of medical equipment done timely
6. Job record sheet well maintained
7. Workshop maintained clean at all times

Key Functions

1. Installing and Repairing medical equipment
2. Diagnosing and correcting of malfunctioning medical equipment and apparatus in a timely manner
3. Installing and testing of new medical equipment and apparatus
4. Performing of planned preventive maintenance on medical equipment and system timely
5. Performing periodic calibration and safety testing of medical equipment for accuracy and reliability of result
6. Maintaining job record sheet for each job attended and filed appropriately
7. Recording all spare parts used
8. Keeping workshop clean and tidy at all times

Benefits

Job Requirements

Person Specifications           

a) Qualifications

• Diploma in Electronic or electrical or mechanical or its equivalent
• Must be registered with Allied Health Professional’s Council

b) Experience

Nil.
