Job Description
Job Purpose:
Seeking for an experienced and results driven Chief Operations Officer (COO) with ability to provide strategic leadership and operational excellence across wholesale, production, manufacturing centres, distribution and retail business units, whilst maintaining internal controls and standards across the organisation. Responsible for ensuring the day to day running of the operations, maximise efficiency and support customer service delivery. Works closely with other key business functions such as Supply Chain, Finance & Marketing to support in the delivery of the core mandate of the organisation.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Lead and oversee the management of operational areas namely; Warehouses, Cold Storage, Hypermarket retail, Building Material, Bakery, Paper Processing Units, Inner Islands, Maintenance and others.
- Develop Operating Procedures, Process and implement best practises to improve productivity, efficiency quality standards and control.
- Work closely with the Executive’s office to drive operational excellence and business strategy.
- Build, lead and develop highly motivated, engaged and performing operational teams to deliver results.
- Ensure compliance of regulations and legal requirements within the units, ensure Health/food safety regulations are kept and highest level of hygiene observed.
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and operational performance reports.
- Achieve the financial and performance targets of units under your COO Portfolio.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a Business-related field, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or related fields with at least 5-7 years’ experience as an operations Manager in a similar or FMCG environment OR
- Master in Business related field or relevant field with minimum 5 years’ experience as an operations Manager.
