Job Description

Overview 

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented, and organised Claims Executive to join our team. This position is suited to a candidate with a solid background in insurance claims handling who can manage a diverse portfolio of claims independently from initial notification through to final settlement. The role involves providing specialist advice and support on insurance claims matters, liaising with clients, insurers, loss adjusters, assessors, service providers, and other stakeholders to ensure claims are managed efficiently, professionally, and in accordance with company procedures while delivering exceptional customer service throughout the claims process.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Receive, review, register, investigate, and process insurance claims in accordance with company procedures.
  • Conduct on-site visits, where required, to support clients, gather relevant information, and collect supporting documentation for the efficient handling of claims.
  • Maintain accurate electronic claims records, registers, files, correspondence, and claims trackers.
  • Liaise and consult with insurers, loss adjusters, assessors, and other relevant stakeholders throughout the claims process.
  • Manage telephone calls and email correspondence, ensuring prompt responses to enquiries and the daily monitoring and actioning of the claims inbox.
  • Negotiate with insurers and other relevant stakeholders to achieve fair, accurate, and timely claim settlements.
  • Monitor the progress of claims and proactively follow up with stakeholders to ensure claims are processed and settled within agreed service standards and timelines.
  • Advise clients on claims procedures, documentation requirements, policy coverage, expected timelines, and the status of their claims, responding to enquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service while ensuring the confidentiality and security of client information at all times.
  • Prepare claims reports, management information, and client updates as required.
  • Assist with claims audits, internal reviews, identify recurring claims trends, and recommend process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulatory requirements, company policies, insurer requirements, and service standards.
  • Undertake any other duties, projects, or responsibilities as may reasonably be assigned by management in support of the Company’s operations and objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of the Seychelles insurance market, insurance products, policy wordings, and claims handling procedures is essential.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience managing a diverse portfolio of insurance claims, including commercial, property, liability, motor, and other general insurance classes.
  • Minimum of a post-secondary certificate, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Insurance, Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field.
  • Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualification or other recognised insurance-related qualification will be an advantage.

Key Competencies 

  • Customer-focused approach with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and accountability.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid Seychelles Class 2 driver’s license with the ability to travel for on-site client visits as required.
