Job Title: Clinical Psychologist

Section: Mental Health Services

Reports to: Senior Clinical Psychologist/Principal Psychologist

Responsible for: Provisional Psychologist

Job Description

Job purpose:

To identify and diagnose psychological, emotional and behavioral disorders among a wide range of clients. To develop and implement psychological treatment plan.

Key Outputs

  1. Client assessment and evaluation done
  2. Psychological behavioral and emotional disorders diagnosed
  3. Personalized and group intervention treatment and management plan developed and implemented.
  4. Client progress recorded maintained and monitored.
  5. Human Resources function including supervision of staff carried out
  6. Report compiled and submitted in a timely manner
  7. Clients requiring further management referred appropriately

Key Functions

  1. Carrying out client assessment and interpretations based on a wide range of psychological tests.
  2. Diagnosing Psychological, behavior and emotional disorders in accordance in accordance with diagnostic criteria.
  3. Developing and implementing treatment plans accordingly
  4. Formulating and creating personali1ed interventions. treatment and management plans for a wide range of clients.
  5. Providing and evaluating therapy to groups and individuals using various evidence-base modalities and tests.
  6. Collaborating with other health care providers to evaluate medical and physical condition of clients
  7. Updating and storing of accurate program and clients’ records, and all other pertinent document appropriatel
  8. Participating in clinical training, mentoring and supervising of other staff.
  9. Conducting research as per department needs.
  10. Compiling and submitting reports in a timely manner.
  11. Implementing psychological standards guidelines and code of conduct.
  12. Participating in court proceeding in relation to their clients’ demands as and when required by the criminal justice system
  13. Participating in continuous professional development

Person specifications

Qualification

  • Must have master degree in Clinical Psychology or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
