Are you ready to be at the heart of legislative action? The National Assembly of Seychelles invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Committee Clerk. This is a key professional role for candidates passionate about governance, policy oversight and public accountability. The candidate will be responsible for providing administrative, procedural, and research support to Standing and Select Sessional Committees of the National Assembly.
Job Description
Key responsibilities
- Provide impartial procedural advice to the Chairperson and other Committee Members, ensuring adherence to the National Assembly Standing Orders, Rules and Procedure in Committees and best parliamentary practices
- Coordinate and manage committee meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and document distribution
- Prepare official reports, minutes of meetings and relevant documents to be laid before the Committee
- Format, publish and distribute reports adopted by the Committee for approval of the House
- Keep record of Committee activities including proceedings, witness testimony, changes to membership, adopted reports and other relevant information
- Lead in the organization of workshops, hearings and stakeholder consultations
- Prepare the Committee’s budget, monitor expenses and maximize the use of resources on behalf of the Committee
- Prepare draft press releases and media briefs on the Committee’s activities to keep the public informed about the Committee’s actions
- Coordinate all logistical arrangements for the Committee on overseas missions including transport and accommodation
- Represent the Committee at official meetings, conferences and workshops approved by the Committee and Office of the Clerk
- Collaborate with Departments of the National Assembly Service for logistical and other support services provided to the Committee.

Benefits
Salary Grade: SB4 + appropriate allowances
Job Requirements
What we are looking for:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in law, Public Administration, Economics, International Relations, Finance, Environmental Studies or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in parliamentary affairs, governance, finance or public administration
- Strong analytical, communication and report writing skills
- Experience in international development instruments will be an added advantage

- Politically neutral, detail-oriented and able to manage sensitive information objectively
- Versatile and adaptable to diverse committee mandates
- Highly motivated and capable of working beyond normal office hours when necessary
