COMPLIANCE MONITORING & SAFETY MANAGER
Job Description
Summary of Duties
Safety Management:
- Manage the SMS implementation plan on behalf of the accountable manager.
- Perform/facilitate hazard identification and safety risk analysis.
- Monitor corrective actions and evaluate their results.
- Provide periodic reports on the organization’s safety performance.
- Maintain SMS documentation and records.
- Plan and facilitate staff safety training.
- Provide independent advice on safety matters.
- Monitor safety concerns in the aviation industry and their perceived impact on IDC Aviation’s operations aimed at product and service delivery; and
- Coordinate and communicate (on behalf of the accountable manager) with the SCAA and other State authorities as necessary on issues regarding safety.
Compliance Monitoring:
- Ensure that IDC Aviation activities are monitored for compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, and any additional requirements as established by IDC Aviation, and that these activities are carried out properly under the supervision of the relevant head of the functional area.
- Ensure that the compliance monitoring program (audit plan) is properly implemented, maintained and continually reviewed and improved.

Job Requirements
Minimum Entry Requirements
- Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
- A comprehensive knowledge of:
- relevant parts of operational requirements and procedures.
- the AOC holder’s operations specifications.
- the need for, and content of, the relevant parts of the AOC holder’s operations manual.
- Knowledge of:
- Human Factor principles.
- Safety management systems based on the EU management system requirements (including compliance monitoring) and ICAO Annex 19.
- Maintenance methods.
- 5 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years, should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position.
- A relevant engineering degree, aircraft maintenance technician qualification or flight crew license with additional education that is acceptable by SCAA.
- Thorough knowledge of EASA Part-145, Part-CAMO, Part-ORO, Part-CAT and SCAA regulations.
- Formal training in Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Compliance Monitoring.
- Auditor training.
- Experience in airline operations and/or maintenance organizations.
- Familiarity with small islands or regional aviation operations.
- Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
- Excellent report writing and documentation abilities.High level of integrity, independence, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems.
