Horizon International Insurance PCC Ltd is a reputable non-domestic insurance company based in Seychelles. We are seeking a capable, detail-oriented and proactive Compliance Officer to support and strengthen our regulatory compliance framework.

Job Description

Role Summary

The Compliance Officer will be responsible for overseeing the Company’s overall regulatory compliance framework, including AML/CFT and regulatory reporting. The role ensures adherence to all applicable Seychelles laws and regulations, acts as the principal liaison with regulatory authorities, and advises the Board of Directors on compliance matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and foster an ethical, compliance-focused culture within the Company.
  • Develop, implement and periodically review compliance policies and procedures to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
  • Monitor and assess compliance risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of regulatory returns and filings.
  • Serve as key liaison with regulatory authorities including the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU).
  • Maintain compliance registers and oversee the reporting, investigation, and remediation of compliance breaches.
  • Oversee AML/CFT compliance, including KYC, CDD/EDD, ongoing transaction monitoring and reporting obligations.
  • Establish and maintain effective customer complaint handling procedures.
  • Prepare periodic and annual compliance reports for submission to the Board.
  • Establish and maintain staff training programs on compliance, including AML/CFT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Compliance, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional qualifications from ICA or ACAMS would be an advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a compliance role, preferably within the financial services or insurance sector.
  • Practical knowledge of Seychelles legislation and regulatory guidelines, including the AML/CFT Act and the Insurance Act.
