The Indian Ocean Tuna Commission is hiring:
Are you passionate about data, the ocean, and contributing to sustainable fisheries and marine conservation? Join the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC) as a Data Management Assistant
The IOTC, a regional fisheries management organisation under the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, is looking for someone who enjoys working with data and has an interest in the ocean and sustainable fisheries.
You’ll be part of a small, multicultural team supporting the collection, organisation and analysis of data that help scientists and managers understand tuna fisheries across the Indian Ocean.
What You’ll Do
- Help organise and prepare fisheries data for use in reports and databases.
- Create simple tables, charts and summaries to support scientific discussions.
- Assist in preparing data and materials for meetings.
What is required
- Secondary school education.
- Four years of experience working with data or statistics.
- Working knowledge of English (proficiency level C).
- An eye for detail, curiosity, and a willingness to learn new tools.
