Job Description
Duties and responsibilities:
Under the directive and supervision of the Senior Debt Analyst, the primary role of the Debt Analyst is to assist with the implementation of the debt accounting, recording, operations, monitoring, settlement and recovery functions of the Debt Management Office in the most effective and efficient manner. The duties and responsibilities include;
- To manage the government and government guaranteed debt according to the legal requirements, rules, regulations, guidelines and objectives of government.
- To manage and maintain a comprehensive, accurate and up-to-date debt database of the debt portfolio that will allow timely registration, disbursements, servicing and to produce accurate statistical information.
- To register, record and process all debt transactions, handle transactions confirmations, settlements, payments, as well as for maintaining records of all debt contracts, disbursements, payments, debt restructuring, on-lending, issued guarantees, settlement of transactions and recovery of debts issued.
- To prepare and compile debt service and disbursements projections.
- To prepare statistical and other reports on the status of government and government guaranteed debt that are required by the government and international bodies
- To provide the necessary elements to the Treasury for the accounting of government and government guaranteed debt and its integration in the annual financial statements of the government.
- To liaise with financial institutions, government departments on matters related to debt.
- To periodically reconcile all debt transactions, debt balances and accounts with creditors, debtors and also validate all debt data including ensuring that creditors are claiming the correct amounts.
- Any other duties as may reasonably be required.

Job Requirements
Minimum Entry Requirement
- A Master’s Degree in International Trade Finance and Development/Business Administration/Economics/Public Policy, or related field or
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Business/Trade/ Foreign Trade/Economics/Economic Policy or Related field
- Advanced Diploma in Business Studies/Administration/Economics/Law/Public Policy or related field plus three years as an Assistant Policy Analyst/Assistant Debt Analyst/Assistant Trade Officer/Assistant Investigation Officer
