Job Description
Role Overview:
As Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Deputy CEO), you will be supporting the Chief Executive Officer in providing strategic leadership and ensuring the effective execution of the Bureau’s mandate. You’ll be at the forefront of transforming National Statistical services and contributing to evidence-based policymaking in Seychelles. In this capacity, you will also oversee and manage administrative support staff, ensuring that all administrative operations are aligned with established standards, policies, and best practices. You will be responsible for maintaining good governance, transparency, and accountability in the Bureau’s operations, ensuring that processes are efficient, compliant, and supportive of the organization’s broader objectives.
Beyond administrative oversight, you will provide high-level advisory support to the CEO on matters related to organizational strategy, institutional development, stakeholder engagement, and policy implementation. Your role will involve fostering collaborative partnerships with government agencies, international organizations, and development partners to enhance statistical capacity and institutional effectiveness.
Job Requirements
Key responsibilities:
- Assist in the strategic planning, governance, and operational management of NBS.
- Lead workforce development initiatives and institutional capacity building.
- Supervise major projects, including national censuses and household surveys.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across government, development partners, and international agencies.
- Oversee statistical operations, ensuring high-quality data collection, analysis, and dissemination.
- Ensure compliance with national and international statistical standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree or higher in Statistics, Economics, Social, Data Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in statistical research, data management, or public sector administration role.
- Strong leadership and managerial experience
- Excellent communicator and strategic thinker.
