POSITION: DIRECTOR ADVOCACY, INFORMATION & CAPACITY BUILDING (ADVOCACY, INFORMATION & CAPACITY BUILDING SECTION)

The Institute of Early Childhood Development is currently seeking a qualified, highly experienced and committed individual with strong leadership, high integrity and other professional attributes for this position.

Job Description

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer of IECD, the Director will be responsible to:

Main Duties

  • Develop communications materials, including publications to promote and advocate the work of the Institute and on ECCE best practices
  • Develop and support the implementation of the Institute’s communication, media and advocacy plan on early childhood development
  • Formulate project memorandums, supervise research projects and provide assistance during research implementation
  • Disseminate and communicate evidenced-based information and findings on ECCE to all stakeholders
  • Manage information, including statistical data on ECCE for monitoring, evaluation and reporting purposes
  • Organise seminars, workshops and multi-level training and professional development structured on early childhood care and education for relevant professionals, teachers, service providers, caregivers, partners, stakeholders and policy makers
  • Establish working relationship with all partners and stakeholders, and advocate the services of the Institute

Job Requirements

Minimum Entry Requirements

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with knowledge and skills in early childhood development;
  • A minimum of three years working experience in any of the social fields (e.g. education, health, social etc.);
  • Good knowledge in communications, information and advocacy issues
