The Seychelles Human Rights Commission is recruiting a Part Time Driver/Messenger. The post holder will be responsible to the Administrative Officer.
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Drives assigned vehicle as directed by authorised personnel
- Comply strictly with traffic laws of the Road Transport Act and Road Transport Regulations
- Drives and guide dignitaries invited by the Seychelles Human Rights Commission
- Drives Commissioners and staff on official duties as directed by authorised personnel
- Dispatch mail and other documents
- Assist with purchasing, loading and unloading of supplies, equipment and materials.
- Keep correct and up to date record of journeys undertaken, fuel consumption and recording of mileage
- Ensure that mileage sheets and servicing records are up to date and are kept in vehicle
- Ensure that road licence and insurance are in order
- Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of vehicles and report faults promptly
- Check oil, water, battery and tires daily
- Report all mechanical faults immediately to Administrative Officer
- Report any defects and all accidents (minor/major) promptly
- Report any incidents in writing with 24 hours.
- Will be responsible for damages to vehicle caused by negligence or carelessness
- Undertake any other related duties as may be assigned by the Administrative Officer.

- Must at all times be neat and properly dressed
- Must be courteous to the public and staff and not use abusive language whilst on duty
- Must not report on duty under the influence of alcohol or narcotics
- Must be prepared to work odd hours
Entry Requirements
- 2 years work experience as a Driver with no accident record
- A valid Class 2 or 4 driving license
- Ability to write simple messages and instructions
- A fair knowledge of the mechanism of a car
- Fluency in spoken and written English and fluency in Creole are essential.
