Job Description

Main Purpose: Assist in the implementation and supervision of Employment Skills Development Programmes.

Summary of Duties:

  • Assist in ensuring the smooth running of the existing training schemes (SDP).
  • Assist in the implementation of new training and skills development programmes for job seekers, unskilled workers and those on welfare.
  • Liaise with employers and stakeholders to negotiate training opportunities for the trainees.
  • Liaise with Private Employment Agencies and District Administration Authorities to identify potential candidates to place and the training scheme.
  • Conduct orientation sessions at school level on skills development opportunities.
  • Maintain contact with training institutions to facilitate appropriate training for job seekers.
  • Liaise with employers to ensure prompt submission of attendance of participants on the scheme.
  • Assist in registration and profiling of jobseekers to enroll on the training scheme.
  • Assist in the production of educational materials for participants on the scheme.

Job Requirement

Qualifications and Experience:

  • First Degree in Law or Industrial Relations or Human Resource or Science or other relevant social science Degree; OR
  • Advanced Diploma in Labour Studies or Industrial Relations or Human Resource plus three years’ work experience as Assistant Employment Officer; OR
  • Diploma in Labour Studies or Industrial Relations or Human Resource plus four years’ work experience as Assistant Employment Officer or equivalent.
