Finance Director
Job Description
Job Summary
The Finance Director has the primary responsibility for the planning, implementation, managing and running of all the finance activities of the organization, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting and negotiations, while ensuring compliance to the relevant financial and tax laws, and oversight authorities.
Essential Functions
- Oversee the preparation of the annual financial statements, all other financial regulatory returns and reports such as tax returns, PEMC reports;
- Working closely with the external auditors to ensure a successful audit;
- Lead the financial strategic planning process, make financial strategy recommendations to be endorsed by the Board and implement such strategies;
- Review and disseminate monthly management accounts, compare budget against actual figures, and propose tactics to course adjust in cases of adverse variances;
- Review and enforce policies and procedures endorsed by the Board for managing the finances of SPA and improving financial performance. Such policies include cash management, investment of excess funds, raising of debt, debtor management, creditor management, etc.
- Contribute to the enterprise risk management process by identifying, owning and managing financial risks;
- Leading the budgeting process, identifying ways to optimize revenue, reduce cost, improve efficiency and optimize the usage of cash;
- Serve as a key point of contact for banks and other financial institutions;
- Any other duties as may be assigned by CEO.

Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- ACCA Strategic Professional or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years’ proven experience of employment in similar position
- Experience in a parastatal preferred;
- Experience in an environment with strong regulatory oversight.
Knowledge & Abilities
- Proven knowledge in budgeting, analysis, compliance, risk management and other
accounting principles; - Good track record in financial accounting and financial management;
