Job Description
Job Summary
Responsible for planning, coordination and implantation of group activities pertaining to the company’s products and services for these markets.
Duties:
- Build and grow profitable relationships with overseas Tour Operators and Incentive Houses whilst establishing solid and mutually beneficial partnerships with hotel operators, airline and other tourism service providers.
- Establish close working relationships with all tourism and other related national authorities, trade associations and relevant government departments in relation to the allocated group activities.
- Ensure positive relationship and communication levels with other company departments.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the company’s business development plan.
- Participate in continuous product and services development and improvement projects.
- Maintain an accurate and timely database system and conducting analysis representative of the allocated markets.
- Ensure the effective daily supervision and running of the group activities for the allocated market
- Actively promote Seychelles as a Groups and Incentives destination placing special emphasis on the utilisation of the services offered by the company. In the process, developing new markets and exposing Seychelles and the company to new clients.
- Identify and recommend potential sources of business for the development of new markets, new tour operators, incentive houses, etc.
- Negotiate the best possible rates with all suppliers in order to secure business.
- Make arrangement for inspection visits and conduct briefing and debriefing with the aim to actively influence clients in their choice of services and to optimize yield per customer.
- Ensure that proforma invoices are raised according to established contract and to assist in finalizing the conditions of payment.
- Attend sales visits and tradeshows as and when necessary.
- Any other related duties that may be assigned
Job Requirements
EDUCATION (KNOWLEDGE):
- Diploma in Tourism, O level in English and French. Knowledge of a third knowledge is desirable.
TRAINING (SKILLS):
- Good knowledge of the Seychelles Products
- Computing Skills
- Public Relations skills
- Research skills
- Good knowledge of the destination in all its aspects
- Knowledge of the different markets
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum one year related working experience
- Experience in reservations or accounting
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
- Pleasant
- Good PR person
- Dynamic and able to work under pressure
- Good team spirit
- Punctual/reliable
Working Hours
42 hours per week with 2 days off per week.
It is expected that you will have to work beyond normal hours at times to meet operational exigencies.
Special Working Conditions
Can be requested whenever required to assist outside normal working hours and normal working days
