Job Description
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and continuously improving the Company’s health and safety standards across its fleet, terminals, offices, waterfront operations and other workplaces. The position requires a professional who can effectively identify risks, implement practical safety solutions and promote a strong safety culture across the organisation.
Summary of the duties and responsibilities.
- The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for Developing, implementing and monitoring the Company’s Health and Safety Management System, policies and procedures.
- Conducting risk assessments, safety inspections, audits and workplace/vessel assessments.
- Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses and ensuring appropriate corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Monitoring compliance with applicable occupational health and safety legislation, regulations and standards.
- Coordinating health and safety training, inductions, toolbox talks and safety awareness programmes.
- Supporting emergency preparedness, response procedures and safety drills.
- Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring safe working practices across all levels of the organisation.
- Providing professional health and safety advice and regular reports to Senior Management.
- Liaising with relevant authorities and other stakeholders on health and safety matters as required.

Applicants should possess:
Qualifications
- An Advanced Diploma, Degree or equivalent higher-level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health, Risk Management, Maritime Safety or a related discipline.
- A recognised professional qualification/certification in Health and Safety.
Experience
- Minimum five (5) years’ relevant experience in occupational health and safety, preferably with at least two (2) years in a supervisory, senior or managerial capacity.
- Proven experience in risk assessment, safety audits, accident investigation and safety management systems.
- Experience in a maritime, marine, transport, port, hospitality, construction or other high-risk operational environment will be an advantage.
- Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, organisational and report-writing skills.
- A proactive approach and the ability to work effectively with employees and Management at all levels.
