Six days a week (Tuesday off)
Job Description
Seeking a team builder with the ability to communicate fluently in English and achieve exceptional food and beverage performance to ensure smooth running of the business premises.
The Host / Hostess is responsible for greeting and seating guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a positive dining experience for all customers.
The Host must have excellent customer service skills as well as the ability to multitask and work in a faced paced environment and have the ability to focus on guest needs and remain calm and courteous at all times.
Working hours:
Full time 6 days a week starting @ SR 11,500.00 gross pm
Closed on Tuesdays & every first Monday of the month for general cleaning of premises
Duties & Responsibilities
Hostess duties include the following:
The duties of a hostess at a bar include a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience for guests. Here are the key responsibilities:
1. Greeting Guests: Warmly welcome guests as they arrive, making them feel valued and appreciated. This includes greeting both new and regular customers with a friendly demeanor.
2. Seating Guests: Efficiently manage seating arrangements by using a seating chart to balance the workload among servers and ensure an even distribution of guests throughout the bar. There must be timely communication with the kitchen and bar serving staff to avoid mishaps.
3. Managing Reservations: Handle reservations, and manage the waitlist to provide accurate wait times and keep guests informed as well as escorting guests to their table.
4. Handling Take-Out Orders: Assist with take-out orders, including greeting customers, providing wait times, and ensuring orders are accurately prepared and delivered. Payments to be handled accurately when necessary.
5. Supporting Other Staff: Help other staff members as needed, such as bussing tables, refilling beverages, and performing light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized environment.
6. Communicating with Guests: Answer guest inquiries, provide information about menu items and promotions, and address any special requests or concerns to ensure guest satisfaction.
7. Maintaining a Clean Environment: Ensure the bar area, restrooms, and waiting areas are clean and well-stocked, contributing to a positive overall atmosphere.
8. Coordinating with Staff: Work closely with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that arise promptly
Bartender duties Include the following:
The bartender must provide exceptional customer service by preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. This role requires a friendly and outgoing personality to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests while maintaining professionalism and adhering to safety and hygiene standards.
9. Prepare and serve a wide range of beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic drinks, following standard recipes and mixing techniques
10. Greet customers, take drink and food orders, and provide information about menu items, making recommendations as needed
11. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, ensuring all equipment and utensils are sanitized and in good working order
12. Manage inventory and restock supplies, including liquor, mixers, garnishes, and other bar essentials, to ensure smooth operations
13. Follow all safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling and storage of alcohol, to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
14. Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, following established cash handling procedures and securing all monies at the end of each shift (with a high level of honesty)
15. Interact with guests in a friendly and engaging manner, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere while monitoring guest behavior to prevent intoxication and handle any issues that may arise
16. Collaborate with other staff members, including servers and kitchen staff, to ensure efficient service and a positive guest experience.
17. Assist in the training and mentoring of new bartenders and bar staff, sharing knowledge and best practices to maintain high service standards
18. Check ID of customers to make sure they meet age requirements for purchase of alcoholic beverages
19. Ensure all glassware and utensils are washed after each use
Other duties:
20. Perform physical activities such as lifting and stooping
21. Maintain high standards of morale and personal appearance at work and whilst on duty or representing Beach Shak
22. Clean up after customers, wipe and sanitize tables, clear ashtrays as and when required
23. Any other related duties as assigned by Management
Job Requirement
Education:
- A high school diploma or
- A degree in hospitality or a related field is a plus
Experience:
- Previous experience in customer service or the hospitality industry is often preferred
- Experience in a similar role, such as a waiter or waitress, can be beneficial
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations
- Proficiency in using reservation systems and basic computer skills
- Good phone etiquette and the ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally
The Employer will make the necessary remuneration for performance of overtime work as and when applicable.
* Any additional hours worked beyond the above time will be considered as over time
Working hours will be:
Wednesday to Monday: Shift 1 – 11:00 am to 8:00 pm
Shift 2 – 4:00 pm to 1:00 am
*Shift rotation will be discussed and agreed with Management
