Responsible to: Administrative Officer, Assistant
Job Description
As a Housekeeper at the Family Department, you will be responsible for ensuring a clean, organized, and hygienic environment within the council’s facilities. Your role is essential in maintaining a positive atmosphere for athletes, staff, and visitors while supporting the council’s mission of promoting sports and physical activity.
- Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing
- Ensure all spaces are clean, sanitized, and presentable at all times.
- Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards
- Notify superiors on any damages, deficits and disturbances
- Assist with cleaning and setup tasks before and after any events, or other activities hosted by the Family Department.
- Properly dispose of trash, recyclables, and hazardous materials in accordance with Department policies and regulations.
- Monitor waste receptacles and ensure they are emptied regularly.
- Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and amenities needed for daily operations.
- Restock supplies as necessary and notify management when additional items are required
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks associated with cleaning chemicals, equipment operation, and potential hazards in sports facilities. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Coordinate with other staff members, including facility managers, event organizers, and maintenance personnel, to ensure seamless operations and address any cleaning-related issues promptly.
- Provide courteous and helpful assistance to clients, visitors, and staff members as needed. Address inquiries and concerns in a professional manner, representing the Family Department positively.

Requirement
- Proven experience as a Cleaner or Housekeeper
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
- Customer-oriented and friendly
- Prioritization and time management skills
- Working quickly without compromising quality
- Knowledge of English language
- Secondary school certificate
