Job Description
Job Summary
The Seychelles Tourism Academy is looking for a full time Housekeeper to join its dynamic, dedicated team. The Housekeeper will be attached to the Laundry Department of the Academy and also support the other departments if needs be.
Duties
- To set an example, in terms of punctuality, personal appearance and professionalism to all the Academy staff.
- Operate the laundry equipment that is for washing, pressing, drying of all items brought to the laundry to be cleaned;
- Ensuring adequate linen in stock and for the daily operation;
- Making sure that all requested order being made follows the procedures already in place;
- Making sure that count is being recorded before issuing of all items (linen) and as well upon return;
- Sorting out linen after being used and separate accordingly before doing the process of washing;
- Washing linen accordingly to type of materials, requested temperature and timing;
- Ensuring proper care is being taken with linen during the process;
- Classifying all linen accordingly and respectively in areas or compartment;
- Ironing linen by following quality to ensure proper product;
- Arranging (clothes) – Chefs complete uniforms prior to the day they resume practical classes plus for all other respective staff.
- Maintaining proper and best way of practices for folding each respective linen;
- Make use of proper and ideal chemical for the removal of stains and as well for cleaning products;
- Perform minor sewing duties
- Assist students/staff for and as when required for any issues, problem and situation related to the services required;
- Maintain excellent cleanliness, hygiene at all times ensuring that ensuring that there is a good working environment and conducive in the laundry;

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualification/Requirements
- Prior experience in a housekeeping or laundry role preferred.
- Secondary education however Certificate in Housekeeping is more desirable.
- Ability to read, write and understand.
