Job Description

Position Summary

A Housekeeping Manager responsibility is for ensuring cleanliness, orderliness, and maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and other facilities. Managing a team of housekeeping attendants, supervising daily cleaning operations, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, and supervise housekeeping
  • Schedule shifts and assign tasks based on daily needs and workload.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and implement training programs.
  • Ensure that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are cleaned to resort’s standards.
  • Inspect rooms and facilities to ensure quality and cleanliness standards are met.
  • Oversee laundry operations and ensure proper care of linens and uniforms.
  • Coordinate maintenance requests for repairs and upkeep. Monitor and control inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linens, and amenities.
  • Order new supplies as needed and manage stock control.
  • Maintain records of expenses and supplies usage.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints or issues related to cleanliness or housekeeping services.
  • Monitor customer feedback and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
  • Monitor the quality of cleaning and ensure that the standards align with guest expectations.
  • Ensure that all housekeeping activities comply with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Train staff in proper cleaning techniques, handling of chemicals, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular safety checks and audits.
  • Work closely with the front desk, maintenance, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Coordinate with the front desk to prioritize room cleaning based on guest check-in/check-out times.
  • Ensure that special requests, such as early check-ins or extra amenities, are met.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven experience as a Housekeeping Manager with at least 3+ years of
  • Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Good understanding of budgeting, inventory management, and cost control.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
