Job Summary
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the overall housekeeping operations to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest satisfaction across all areas of the property.
This role provides strategic and operational leadership to the housekeeping team, ensuring efficient resource planning, staff performance management, and compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards. The Housekeeping Manager supports departmental planning, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives, while fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not be limited to, the following areas and activities. Management may assign additional duties as required.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery
- Supervise, lead, and motivate the housekeeping team, including laundry attendants, room attendants, and public area staff
- Plan, organize, and allocate resources effectively to meet occupancy levels and operational demands
- Liaise with the Front office on anticipated guest check-ins, check-outs, suite assignment and rooming list,
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house to ensure adherence to cleanliness and brand standards
- Handle and resolve guest complaints promptly, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction etc.
- Ensure that all suites are checked prior to the arrival of guests for 100% readiness.
- Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and service standards
- Ensure through effective supervision that all services offered in the Housekeeping Department are always available and are carried out with outmost efficiency and courtesy as per the Departmental Operations Manual
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, control, and proper use of cleaning supplies, linen, and equipment
- Monitor departmental expenses and assist in budget preparation and cost control measures
- Coordinate closely with Front Office, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure seamless operations
- Lead training, onboarding, and continuous development of housekeeping staff
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and implement disciplinary actions where necessary
- Analyze operational reports and KPIs to improve efficiency and service quality
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and recommend strategies to enhance productivity and service standards
- To conduct regular Housekeeping Meetings to keep employees informed of policies and procedures, special events, further improvement plans and guest comments.
- To assist subordinates during peak periods.

Job Requirements
- We consider only candidates who adhere to the below requirements:
- Proven experience in housekeeping within the hospitality industry, with supervisory or managerial experience preferred (2-3 years)
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- High level of literacy and computer proficiency (MS Office, hotel management systems, reporting tools)
- Excellent organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage a diverse team
- Sound knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning techniques, and safety standards
