Job Description
Position Statement
The Human Resources (HR) Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless coordination of all HR-related activities between Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island and Mahé. This individual will be responsible for managing and following up on essential HR processes, assisting team members (TMs) with administrative and onboarding tasks, and serving as a welcoming face for new hires. The HR Officer will work closely with the HR Manager to maintain operational efficiency and compliance with employment regulations
Position Summary
Document Follow-Up and Management
- Ensure timely follow-up on all Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island HR files, including GOP (Gainful Occupation Permit) applications and renewals, team member documents, and other assigned tasks.
- Act as the liaison with government offices and agencies for submissions and follow-ups.
Team Member Support on Mahé
- Assist Waldorf Astoria TMs with opening bank accounts, obtaining ID cards, and securing other official documents.
- Provide guidance and support to TMs on Mahé, ensuring a smooth and efficient process for all administrative tasks.
Onboarding and Welcoming New Team Members
- Serve as the face of Waldorf Astoria by welcoming and guiding new team members joining the Platte Island team.
- Assist new hires with understanding and completing employment processes before their transition to the island.
Coordination with Platte Island HR Team
- Travel to Platte Island twice a month to deliver or collect documents, ensuring all paperwork is appropriately handled and submitted on time.
- Maintain consistent communication with the island-based HR team to ensure alignment on all HR processes.
Reporting and Updates
- Prepare and submit a weekly report detailing progress, updates, and outstanding tasks to the HR Manager.
- Provide recommendations to improve processes and ensure timely execution of HR-related responsibilities
Regulatory Knowledge and Compliance
- Maintain advanced knowledge of employment processes, immigration laws, and other regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with all legal obligations.
- Monitor changes in employment or immigration regulations and advise the HR Manager on necessary adjustments to policies or procedures.
General Administrative Support
- Handle correspondence and communications with external stakeholders as needed.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the HR Manager to support the overall HR function.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Familiarity with Seychellois labor laws, immigration processes, and other legal frameworks.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a welcoming and professional demeanor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to travel between Mahé and Platte Island as required.
Education
- BA/BS/Bachelor’s Degree
Experience
- 2- 3 years
