Human Resources Officer – Employee Relations
Job Description
Job summary
Provide day to day advice on employee relations and performance management matters to staff and management in accordance with Employment Act and internal policies and procedures. Function as a liaison between staff employees and management. Take the lead in investigations; provides guidance and recommendations for problem resolution and act on resolutions made.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Advice and act on disciplinary matters in accordance with the Employment Act and established policies and procedures including Termination of Appointment.
- Interact with line managers to settle employee grievances and conflicts.
- Visit staff at their workplaces, take note of their concerns and act accordingly.
- Seek guidance from Employment Department on interpretation of Employment Act as and when necessary.
- Educate staff on their rights and responsibilities
- Conducts trainings as needed for supervisors and employees in line with employment laws
- Conduct performance appraisals for employees at designated department/section
- Educate staff at all levels on how to use the system to ensure completeness of performance evaluations processes
- Participate in carrying out research and surveys where necessary;
- Perform other HR, Training and Administrative functions in the absence of personnel and whenever the need arises
- Prepare monthly activity report for statistical analysis purposes by the HR Manager

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications/Skills/Experience
- Diploma in Human Resources or related field plus
OR - Certificate in HR plus combination of other relevant qualifications with relevant years of experience.
- At least 3 years’ experience as a employee relations officer, or HR Generalist. (For qualification lower than a first degree)
- Ability to interpret and implement Seychelles labour laws;
- Strong computer skills and use of HR information systems;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
