Seychelles Commercial Bank is strengthening its Internal Audit function and is looking for an experienced Internal Audit Manager who can help drive a more risk-based, standards-aligned and forward-looking audit approach. The Internal Audit Manager reports to the Head of Internal Audit and works closely with Senior Management and the Board Audit Committee.

Job Description

KEY FOCUS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and execute risk-based internal audit assignments across branches, departments and key processes, from planning through to reporting.
• Develop and maintain a structured audit universe and documented risk assessment to support the annual risk-based audit plan.
• Prepare clear annual audit plans that set out the scope, objectives, rationale and timing of each engagement, and present these to Management and the Audit Committee for approval.
• Draft high quality audit reports with well-reasoned findings and practical recommendations, and monitor the implementation of agreed actions.
• Design and maintain a centralised tracking tool to follow up on open issues and provide regular status updates to Management and the Audit Committee.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of an Internal Audit procedure manual and working paper standards, ensuring consistency and quality of work.
• Support the implementation of a Quality Assurance and Improvement Programme (QAIP) for the Internal Audit function in line with the Global Internal Audit Standards.
• Coach and supervise junior auditors, provide on the job training and support their professional development, including exposure to key risk areas such as credit, operations, IT/cybersecurity and compliance.
• Provide ad hoc advice to Management on internal control and risk management matters, while maintaining independence and objectivity.

Job Requirement

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Risk Management or a related field.
• Professional certification: CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) is highly preferred; candidates who are actively pursuing CIA/ACCA/CPA will also be considered

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• At least 2–5 years’ relevant experience in internal audit, external audit, risk management or assurance, preferably in a banking or financial services environment.
• Demonstrated experience in risk-based audit planning, development of audit programs and documentation of risk assessments.
• Good understanding of internal control frameworks, banking operations and regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to clearly document work done and support conclusions with evidence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and ability to work independently as well as in a team.
