ACCS is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the post of Investigation Officer (Complaints).
Job Description
Job Summary:
This role involves investigating public complaints, recommending appropriate actions, and ensuring timely and effective responses, all while maintaining the highest standards of service. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling complaints or customer service, particularly in problem-solving contexts. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as the role requires working closely with individuals at all levels, including senior management, councilors, and often frustrated or distressed complainants. The role reports directly to the Senior Investigation Officer (Complaints) and is crucial in fostering trust and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for public complaints and ensure they are properly registered, monitored, and reported.
- Prepare case documentation, conduct interviews, manage witnesses, and produce accurate statements and investigation reports.
- Analyse information from preliminary inquiries to assess the validity of complaints.
- Identify corruption-related issues and refer cases to relevant bodies when outside the ACCS remit.
- Collaborate with partners, stakeholders, and agencies to ensure efficient handling of complaints and coordinated responses.
- Gather, record, and securely store evidence in line with legislation and best practices
- Stay updated on industry developments and recommend improvements.
- Provide high-quality, confidential service to internal and external customers.
- Maintain a database of all complaints and ensure compliance with Anti-Corruption legislation and protocols.
- Represent the Commission in external meetings and committees as required.
- Uphold ethical, moral, and legal standards in all work.
Job Requirement
Minimum requirements:
- Post Secondary graduate from related fields with a minimum of three years formal experience in law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field
- Experience of conducting research and data analysis.
Desirable qualifications and experience:
- Have an understanding of the Anti-Corruption Act 2016 (as amended), AML Act 2020 and other related legislation applicable to financial and economic crimes, with a focus on corruption, illicit financial flows, and money laundering.
- Experience working in and as part of an investigative team.
- Experience using analytical or investigative software.

Type of position: Permanent, full-time position
Work conditions:
- Work is performed primarily in an office setting.
- Working in a fast-paced and versatile environment.
- Work also entails a high level of field work to gather evidence and take statements.
- May be required to drive to attend to role-related functions.
- Working with large datasets
- May have to work on weekends and extended hours as and when required.
Working hours per week: 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday
