About the Role
Cable & Wireless Seychelles is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Linesman to install, maintain and protect its underground and overhead telecommunications network.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare manholes, joint boxes and ducts for cable installation and maintenance.
- Install, remove and maintain underground and overhead cables, poles, ducts and related equipment.
- Carry out minor trenching, reinstatement, duct repairs and cable-diversion works.
- Maintain safe clearances and apply road signs, barriers and other site-safety controls.
- Use company vehicles, tools and equipment responsibly and complete required records.
- Report network defects and operational risks promptly.
- Support standby, call-out and emergency restoration activities.
- Work effectively with colleagues, utility providers, service partners and the public.
Job Requirements
Requirements
- Post-secondary certificate in Electrical, Mechanical or a related technical field.
- Valid driving license.
- Basic electrical knowledge and the ability to follow technical and safety instructions.
- Good practical, communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform physical outdoor work and work at height.
- Relevant field experience, trade certification, First Aid or safety training would be an advantage.
