Job Description

The Maintenance & Technical Sales Support technician, reporting to the CEO and General Manager is responsible for the assembling, installation, maintenance and repairs of all electronic and mechanical equipment.

Main tasks and responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Study blueprints, schematics, workshop manuals, or other specifications to determine installation and repair procedures.
• Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software, and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems in the store. Operate equipment to demonstrate proper use by customer upon delivery.
• Repair or adjust equipment, machines, or defective components, replacing worn parts as after sales services.
• Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment.
• Participating in the inventory of stock.
• Advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, or suggestions for product improvements. Enter information into computer system applying knowledge of software package used.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to remain updated with new equipment, tools and emerging technologies relevant to the role.

Job Requirements

Profile

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

• At least 5 years knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Relevant training in relation to repair and maintenance of power tools, small engines, electrical equipment and similar items.
• Excellent analytical, and organisation problem solving skills.
• Customer service skills – good communication and ability to deliver excellent service.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations.

Qualifications

• Technical Certificate in Maintenance and Repair
• Valid Class 2 + 4 Driver’s License
• Ability to operate a Forklift.
