Job Description
Position Overview:
Apex is a distribution business based in the Seychelles. Apex is an importer and leading distributor of fresh, frozen, and FMCG products into the Seychelles hospitality and retail marketplace, with operations spanning across the three largest islands.
The Managing Executive will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, leadership, and performance of Apex’s warehousing and distribution operations. Reporting directly to the business owners, this role will involve overseeing the General Manager and Commercial Director, ensuring the organization’s goals are aligned with business objectives, operational excellence, and long -term growth. The Managing Executive will play a key role in setting strategic priorities, fostering innovation, and managing relationships with key stakeholders and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the company’s strategic vision, setting clear goals for operational efficiency, business growth, and long -term success. Ensure alignment of business strategy with company objectives and market trends.
- Executive Oversight: Lead and provide guidance to the General Manager and Commercial Director ensuring all operational, financial, and human resource goals are achieved. Support and mentor senior leadership in key functions, including fi nance, operations, IT, HR, and warehouse management.
- Financial Management & Growth: Oversee the financial health of the business, working closely with the Financial Controller to drive profitability, manage costs, and ensure sustainable growth. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Innovation & Process Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimize operations, implement new technologies, and enhance efficiency across all areas of the business. Champion innovation and best practices in warehousing, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure that the company adheres to all relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies. Manage risks and ensure the implementation of risk mitigation strategies across all operations.
- Talent Management & Development: Work closely with HR to create and implement strategies for talent acquisition, employee development, and retenti on. Foster a positive company culture and ensure that the leadership team is well-equipped to drive the company’s success.
- Reporting to the Board: Provide regular updates to the Board of Directors on the performance of the business, including financial performance, operational outcomes, strategic initiatives, and risks. Advise on key decisions and help shape the company’s long-term strategic direction.
- Customer Focus: Ensure that customer satisfaction and service excellence remain at the forefront of the company’s operations. Oversee initiatives that enhance client relationships, improve service delivery, and drive customer loyalty.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance or Supply Chain Management.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of senior management experience in warehousing, distribution, or
logistics, with a strong understanding of operational management.
