Job Description
Job summary
Under general supervision, make minor and major mechanical repairs of vehicles, fire trucks and other mechanical equipment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in inspecting, diagnosing and locating mechanical defects on automobiles, trucks, fire apparatus, tractors, pumps and a variety of maintenance and construction equipment;
- Tune up engines, replacing parts, cleaning, and adjusting components when needed
- Carry out basic auto electric work example replacing ECU, switch, relay, starter, alternator etc…
- Fabricate, modify, weld, or braze parts and equipment of all kinds of metals, including cast iron, aluminium and cooper.
- Interprets technical drawings;
- Cleans and washes vehicles and other equipment;
- Clean otherwise keep working environments neat and tidy
- Assist with body work on vehicle
- Replaces or repairs tyres
- Carry out task on machine tools
- Use vehicle code scanner to find fault and interpret data.
- Repair rescue boats
- Assist with the replacement of damage window or windshield glass.
- Assist with the repair of Air-conditioning in vehicles
- Abides to health and safety producers that are in place
- Test drive vehicles after repair
- Perform task on machine tools
- Performs any other related duties as necessary

Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications/Skills/Experience
- SIT Certificate in automotive or mechanical engineering (IVQ)
- A valid driver’s license (Class 2, 4 and 5
