Job Description

Job Purpose

The Programme Officer is responsible for supporting the implementation and coordination of programmes within the Programme section. He/she works closely with Principal Programme Development officer, assisting in programme development and planning, monitoring progress, and ensuring adherence to timelines and deliverables. Programme Officers may handle administrative tasks and plays a vital role in facilitating effective communication among other colleagues of the ministry as well as external stakeholders, organising meetings and events, and maintaining programme documentation.

FUNCTIONAL

  • Deliver evidence-based empowerment programs, where activities and strategies are implemented and efficiently co- ordinated according to appropriate timelines
  • Provide professional and supportive links to various target groups to ensure the emphasis of empowerment.
  • Lead a range of empowerment activities and programs to ensure development of programs that meet community wellbeing.
  • Liaise with other stakeholders or specialists to develop and deliver empowerment programs for community wellbeing.
  • Maintain systems and practices that promote forward planning to ensure the team members have appropriate documentation and notice for their input of empowerment program activities.
  • Collate, analyse, interpret, evaluate, and present data regarding community wellbeing activities for reporting and decision making purposes.
  • Use relevant literature and research findings to improve community wellbeing programs and outcomes.

Essential Qualifications/Experience

  • Diploma in in relevant field plus six years’ work experience as an Assistant Programme Officer/Assistant Project Officer
  • 2 years’ experience working in the Human service & promotion field
  • Ability to communicate well, verbally with both internal and external customers.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong self-motivation and the ability to work with a degree of autonomy and to use one’s own initiative.
